Manchester United have identified Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer as the ideal signing for the summer transfer window, according to TuttoSport.
The Brazilian has been in fantastic form for the Bianconeri this term and he recently put pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract until June 2028. Despite this, he could be on the move.
TuttoSport claim that manager Erik ten Hag has urged United to sign a physically strong defender, who has the ability to anticipate and has good ball-playing ability.
The Red Devils have identified Bremer as the ideal defensive signing. A first meeting between United and Juventus is expected in the not so near future.
The Bianconeri recruited Bremer from Torino for €50 million. They are unlikely to accept anything less than €70m to sanction his sale over the summer.
Bremer would be a fantastic signing for Man Utd
The 26-year-old has played in the middle of a three-man backline for the Bianconeri this term.
He has had a passing accuracy of 86 per cent, but it has been his defensive work which has caught the eye. Bremer has made four clearances and 5.1 ball recoveries per game.
The former Torino man has also won 1.4 tackles and five duels on average. In our opinion, his physical and aerial attributes would suit the demands of the Premier League.
United have earmarked him as an ideal target and the club could open negotiations in the coming months such that they can secure his transfer before pre-season.
His arrival could coincide with a potential departure. As things stand, it could be Raphael Varane whose €397,000-a-week contract with the club expires at the end of June.
