Fred and James start, Predicted Manchester United lineup (4-2-3-1) vs West Ham United

Manchester United will be aiming to register successive league victories for the first time this season when they face West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday. The Red Devils have registered 1-0 wins in the past two home games in the Premier League and Europa League respectively, but they are still going through a tough run on the road with no victories since the 3-1 Champions League triumph at Paris Saint-Germain in March.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Lineup:

David de Gea was afforded with a rest in midweek where Sergio Romero was preferred between the sticks. The Spain international should return for the Hammers trip, given he is the undisputed choice in goal when it comes to the Premier League.

In the defence, Solskjaer is expected to overhaul the entire combination from the midweek Europa League triumph over Astana. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ashley Young are expected to feature on the right and left side of the backline with Victor Lindelof partnering Harry Maguire in the central defence.

In the centre of the park, Scott McTominay has been ever-present for the league duties and the Scotland international is expected to start after a strong performance versus Leicester City last time around. He is likely to be partnered by Fred, who remains a much mobile option than Nemanja Matic while Paul Pogba remains on the sidelines with an ankle problem.

Further forward, Daniel James is likely to make a comeback after missing the midweek game with a knock. The Welshman has been included in the travelling squad and we are anticipating him to make the starting XI in his preferred left-wing position.

Elsewhere, Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard could get the nod in the number 10 role and right wing roles respectively. Mason Greenwood scored his maiden senior goal while playing from the right side of the attack against Astana but the teenager has been left out of the travelling squad for the Hammers clash.

Upfront, Marcus Rashford is certain to lead the line with Anthony Martial sidelined with a thigh problem for another gameweek. The England international has been wasteful with his chances in recent games and needs to be more clinical in front of goal to end the club’s away woes.
