Four Prospects Who Could Make the Grade at Manchester United

Young players have delivered some of the greatest moments in Manchester United’s storied history, but the talent pipeline has stalled in recent years.

Thankfully, the club has started to invest heavily in youth recruitment and those efforts could soon start to bear fruit. While some promising youngsters have been cast aside, most notably Alejandro Garnacho, the door is open for a new wave of emerging talents to make their mark with the Red Devils.

Sekou Kone

Sekou Kone is considered one of the finest talents in United’s academy, and has been tipped to be part of the first team set-up in the near future.

The 19-year-old is an all-round midfielder who can break up play, dictate tempo and break the lines. Many people think he should already be a regular member of the squad. If he lives up to expectations, he could save the club millions in the transfer market.

The Malian teenager is secure in possession and a fierce ball winner on the other side of the ball. He operates primarily as a defensive midfielder, but can also play the box-to-box role. If he continues to improve, he could soon be anchoring United’s midfield.

James Overy

James Overy is a dynamic defender who is tactically versatile enough to fit into manager Ruben Amorim’s tactical system.

The Australian is adept at pushing up the right flank to prove width. He overlaps to deliver crosses or cuts inside to combine with midfielders, which makes him hard to predict. With United’s current options at right-wing-back failing to impress, Overy could step up.

The Red Devils already have a sizeable fan base in Australia, but it could become even bigger if Overy forces his way into the team. His presence in the starting XI would also have a significant impact on the betting industry in his homeland.

The betting platforms featured on australianbettingsites.net.au offer Premier League odds throughout the season. Australian betting sites would be bowled over with wagers from United fans in Oceania if Amorim gives Overy the chance to demonstrate his quality.

Amir Ibragimov

Amir Ibragimov’s flair, creativity and fearlessness in the final third make him an intriguing future prospect for the Red Devils.

He has a keen eye for goal and can play in multiple positions in attack or midfield. Ibragimov thrives in the space behind a central striker. Given the freedom to express himself, he has made it a zone where he can showcase his creativity.

His low centre of gravity, nimble footwork and ability to switch gears at a moment’s notice make him a nightmare for defenders. Ibragimov could seamlessly fit into Amorim’s system, although there is plenty of competition in his favoured role.

Bendito Mantato

Bendito Mantato has been touted for greatness since he burst onto the scene with the Under-18 team. His style of play has drawn comparisons to Arsenal and England star Bukayo Saka.

Mantato has the speed, dribbling ability and creativity to be a menace to opposition defences in the Premier League. Like Saka, he started out as a left back but is maturing into an impressive right winger, and it may not be long until he is a regular at United.

He is the kind of player who can take a game by the scruff of its neck. His left foot is a weapon, and his explosive acceleration allows him to skip past defenders with ease. Although Mantato has struggled with injuries in recent months, he is one to watch.
