Manchester United are set to host Fulham in the Premier League opener at Old Trafford tomorrow.
United spent around £150 million this summer. Fans will be eager to see new arrivals Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Joshua Zirkzee make their mark.
Yoro endured a setback in the pre-season and could be out until autumn due to a fractured metatarsal.
Erik ten Hag may integrate De Ligt directly into the action, potentially pairing him with Lisandro Martinez.
The United manager confirmed Harry Maguire’s availability for the clash. De Ligt could be called from the bench if Maguire partners Martinez.
Mazraoui is likelier to make his full debut for United with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia sidelined.
He could start in his preferred right-back position, while Diogo Dalot could fill in on the left side of the defence.
Though Mazraoui is versatile enough to play on the left, Ten Hag is likely to deploy him on the right. This will ensure he plays where he is most comfortable.
Toby Collyer has risen through the ranks and impressed everyone in the pre-season.
Having already made his senior debut in the FA Community Shield against Manchester City, the youngster is on the brink of a top-flight appearance.
While Casemiro is set to start, Collyer could make a crucial impact off the bench.
Yoro was not the only senior United player injured in the pre-season. Rasmus Hojlund suffered a similar fate and is an assured absentee.
Ten Hag may start with Bruno Fernandes as a false nine but could turn to Zirkzee in the second half to inject fresh attacking energy.
Zirkzee didn’t feature against Man City as he continues to adapt with his new teammates.
