Four Man Utd stars miss training ahead of Omonia Nicosia clash

Manchester United could be without four key players when they face Omonia Nicosia in tomorrow’s Europa League clash.

The Red Devils made a poor start after the international break as they suffered a heavy 6-3 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

Erik ten Hag will expect a strong response in tomorrow’s game in Cyprus, but he could be without four key players at least.

Harry Maguire picked up a muscle injury on England duty recently, and he was not spotted in today’s training session at Carrington.

Aside from the club captain, Raphael Varane was also missing, as per BBC Sport’s Simon Stone, having sustained an ankle injury in the Manchester derby.

Apart from the duo, it seems Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek could be ruled out for the trip, having not reported to the training ground today.

United will be overwhelming favourites to beat Omonia on Thursday evening, but Ten Hag may not necessarily make wholesale changes to his line-up.

The Dutch tactician will want a strong reaction to the derby humiliation, and a number of regulars could feature as they have a point to prove.

Meanwhile, there will be players such as Casemiro, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw that have the chance to push for a starting berth with strong performances.

Casemiro has endured a difficult start to his United career after his big-money move from Real Madrid. He has played second fiddle to Scott Mctominay.

It has been recently reported that the Brazilian could start against Omonia in Europe before being handed his full Premier League debut at Everton on Sunday.
