Manchester United host West Ham United on Wednesday as our game in hand on Leicester City.
Unless we better Chelsea’s result away to Liverpool on the same day, there’s not much difference in a win or a draw in this one as it’ll still put us above Leicester, needing to avoid defeat at the King Power Stadium on the final day.
We’ve had a hectic schedule of late and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do with rotating the squad once again in order to be fresh for the final game, but we’ll have to wait and see how the boss plays it.
Here’s the team I think we’ll see face West Ham:
Goalkeeper: David de Gea
Despite another howler in the FA Cup on Sunday, David de Gea will be our first choice for the two remaining games. It would take a brave manager to make the switch at this stage of the season.
Defence: Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams
Timothy Fosu-Mensah could be in line for a second start in as many Premier League games as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is desperate for a rest. The youngster could do with being fresh on the final day with the runs Jamie Vardy likes to make beyond the last man. Eric Bailly’s injury in the FA Cup leaves Ole with no choice but to start Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof as the centre-back pair. Luke Shaw’s injury means Brandon Williams will keep his place at left-back.
Midfield: Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba; Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford
Scott McTominay should come in to give Nemanja Matic a rest. Paul Pogba only played the final half hour against Chelsea so should be fresh for this one. Mason Greenwood has had a rest of late too, whilst his replacement over the weekend, Daniel James, did little to earn himself a starting berth in the final two games. Bruno Fernandes will pull the strings in the number 10 role once again and Marcus Rashford will keep his spot down the left.
Striker: Anthony Martial
Was perhaps expecting a longer rest against Chelsea but was introduced just before half-time. Anthony Martial should be fit to start this one and cause West Ham’s defence problems.
Here’s how I see us lining up:
