Former players speak about United’s new talent

Manchester United are close to signing Uruguayan talent Facundo Pellistri from Penarol. The 18-year-old is expected to arrive for a medical and to finalize his move. He is going to cost a fee close to £7 million.

His national compatriot Edinson Cavani is all set to be announced as a Manchester United player too.

The youngster has been recommended to Manchester United by former club striker Diego Forlan.

Speaking about the player to Fox Sports’ Joga Bonito, This is what the Man United legend said: “Pellistri has huge potential. There is still a lot to work on. He is growing and he makes the difference. He has great pace and that is hard to handle.”

Pellistri has also been given rave reviews by Former Argentine international Juan Roman Riquelme.

This is what he said to El Observador: “He is young, talented, he hasn’t played that much but you can see he is a real rascal with the ball at his feet”.

“And that is important. There is not many like him around, who have the courage to be so cheeky on the pitch. That is highly valuable.”

It is highly evident from these testimonies that Manchester United fans are in for a treat.
