Former Manchester United target Ismaila Sarr set to leave Watford this summer

Manchester United have been handed a potential transfer boost ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils want to bolster their attack, and Watford forward Ismaila Sarr could be available on the cheap.

The Senegal international is set to leave the Championship club at the end of the season, reports The Athletic.

Sarr will leave the Vicarage Road club even if they seal Premier League promotion.

Clubs are on alert as a result, and Man United would be wise to join them.

He will only have a year left on his contract when the summer transfer window opens.

Sarr was close to joining Aston Villa last summer in a £25 million move.

Watford will be forced to cash in on him when the transfer window opens.

Given his contract situation, they could struggle to get half of what they wanted from Villa last time out.

Man United considered a move for the 25-year-old back in 2020 when the Hornets were relegated.

A deal could not be done as Watford wanted to hold on to their record £30m signing.

They secured an immediate return to the Premier League but got relegated again after 12 months.

Man United have a striker on top of their summer wishlist.

While Sarr is unlikely to be their top target, he has what it takes to improve their attack.

He is versatile and his return of 56 club career goals in 233 appearances is decent.

The former Rennes star has ten Premier League goals and six assists for Watford.

He has also bagged 22 Championship goals and ten assists for them.

Given his excellent finishing abilities, there is no doubt that Sarr will do well in a side that creates regular chances.

He could be an upgrade on the struggling Antony, and Man United could miss a trick if they refuse to attempt to sign him.
