According to The Argus, Brighton have signed exciting teenage prospect Reda Khadra. This news has been further confirmed by Sky Sports.
The winger joins Brighton after being released by German giants Borussia Dortmund. He is expected to link-up with the U-23 team after his arrival.
Khadra played 24 times last season for Dortmund’s U19’s in all competitions, scoring two goals.
The most interesting thing about the young German’s move to England is his choice of destination.
Reda Khadra was given a trial by English powerhouse Manchester United.
According to the Daily Mail, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave the youngster a chance to prove himself. He wanted Khadra to join his team as a part of the rebuild this summer.
Khadra was due to play for the Red Devils in a friendly against Doncaster but was forced to watch from the sidelines as his international clearance failed to come through in time.
Though still unclear, the delay in the arrival of the International clearance could be one of the reasons why Manchester United decided not to sign him.
Only time will tell whether Man United were right not to sign the exciting German prospect.
