Five players linked with a move to Manchester United in the upcoming summer window

The summer transfer window is right around the corner, and as usual, tens of players are linked with Manchester United. The fact is that most of these deals are not going to go through, but what are the players that might actually join United before the end of the summer? Below, we have listed five players that are more or less likely to join United during the summer transfer window.

Kim Min-Jae – Possibility: 4/5

Kim Min-Jae moved to SSC Napoli from Fenerbahce last summer and has taken Serie A by storm. This season, the South Korean defender has been one of the best centre-backs in European football, and after winning the Scudetto with Napoli, he might want to move to a new club.

According to many sources, Kim Min-Jae has been one of United’s main targets since last November. That’s understandable since the Napoli defender has a release clause of €50 million that will activate on the 1st of July 2023. Because United has struggled with injuries over their centre-backs, for that price, Kim Min-Jae might be a decent option to bolster their defence.

Adrien Rabiot – Possibility: 4/5

The Juventus midfielder was one of Ten Hag’s top targets last summer, but the deal never went through. Now the situation is different since Rabiot’s contract with Juventus is coming to an end at the end of June. It means Rabiot would be available without a transfer fee and could have a crucial role in the United’s squad next season.

Season 22/23 has been the best Rabiot has ever had, and that is why plenty of clubs are after his signature. Since United might sell McTominay, Fred is entering the final year of his contract, and Eriksen might not be able to play over 40 games a season, Rabiot is more than a realistic option for United. Ten Hag has already been in contact with Rabiot, and the deal between the two parts looks more than possible.

Yann Sommer – Possibility: 3/5

Yann Sommer is an interesting case since he might not be available. It all comes down to the fact that Bayern Munich is only going to keep one of Neuer and Sommer. Since Neuer is a club legend and will be back in action before next season starts, it’s more likely that Sommer will seek greener pastures.

The 34-year-old Swiss is a proven keeper and could be a decent short-term option for United. It also would allow United to invest in other positions during the upcoming summer window, and then United could spend big on a new keeper during the next couple of years. United was already linked with Sommer before he signed a contract with Bayern, and that’s part of the reason why he’s relatively likely to join United during the summer transfer window.

Teemu Pukki – Possibility: 1/5

The 33-year-old Finnish forward might not be the number one flashy signing United might make in the upcoming summer window, but there have been some rumours about United signing him for free. Weghorst is leaving at the end of the season, and United needs plenty of new options to play up front, and since they have a limited budget, Pukki might be one of the low-risk, high-reward options available.

Pukki is running out of contract, and it is confirmed that he’ll leave Norwich at the end of the season. There is a slight chance that United will sign him as their third-choice striker for the upcoming season. We talked about Pukki’s situation with Finnish gambling experts from Kasinosivustoni.com, and according to them, Pukki is more likely to leave the UK than join Manchester United.

Gregor Kobel – Possibility: 2/5

The 25-year-old Swiss is another target when United searches for a potential successor for De Gea. Kobel has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga this season, and there have been some questions about his future at Borussia Dortmund. He is their first-choice keeper, but since Bellingham, Guerreiro, and some other starting players look likely to leave after the season ends, they might be forced to sell Kobel too.

United has been regularly linked with Gregor Kobel, and there haven’t been any significant changes. There still are ongoing rumours about Kobel coming to United, but no one has made any contact according to a potential transfer. Yet we feel the quality of the rumours has been high enough to give this transfer a possibility of 2 out of 5.
