Fiorentina waiting for Man Utd to make concrete move to sign Sofyan Amrabat

Fiorentina are currently waiting for a concrete follow-up from Manchester United for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, according to Corriere dello Sport (page 7).

The Red Devils have been active in the transfer window this month. They have already signed Mason Mount and Andre Onana while an agreement is now in place with Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund.

A new defensive midfielder could be their next target, and it is claimed that United are ‘most convinced’ to sign Amrabat following the intervention of manager Erik ten Hag.

The Serie A outfit are now waiting for a ‘concrete’ move from the Red Devils. They want United to guarantee that they are willing to meet their €30 million price tag.

United set to focus on Amrabat after Hojlund transfer

The Morocco international had a superb 2022/23 campaign for club and country.

He was part of the national side that reached the World Cup semi-final against the odds. With Fiorentina, he made the finals of the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Conference League.

His ball control and distribution are his main strengths. In our view, he would be a good upgrade on the likes of Scott McTominay and Fred for the deputy role behind Casemiro.

Aside from his ball-playing ability, Amrabat also possesses a tremendous work rate and likes to make regular fouls to break down play. He should be a perfect acquisition.

Ten Hag knows him well from their time together at Utrecht. Amrabat was handed his senior debut by the Dutchman. The midfielder has already agreed personal terms with United.

A transfer should be a formality as soon as United settle on the fee. There could be a delay in finalising the move, suppose United are planning to recoup funds from outgoings first.
