Fiorentina and Sofyan Amrabat waiting for Man Utd to make formal move

Fiorentina and Sofyan Amrabat are waiting for Manchester United to make a formal move, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The Morocco international has been linked with the Red Devils for several weeks, but the club have yet to make an approach to land his signature.

Sheth has now revealed that Fiorentina and Amrabat are waiting for United’s opening bid.

United boss Erik ten Hag is an admirer of Amrbabat. The 27-year-old also has a good relationship with the Dutchman, who managed him at Utrecht.

The Red Devils are currently focusing on another midfield exit before they can pursue a deal for Amrabat, who is now training individually at Fiorentina.

United could make late swoop for Amrabat

The club recently confirmed the departure of Fred to Fenerbahce for €15 million, but they require another midfield exit to afford the services of Amrabat.

Donny van de Beek has been linked with a move in recent weeks. United are open to loaning him out this summer with an obligation to buy for €12m.

Meanwhile, there is also speculation that West Ham United could revive their interest in Scott McTominay.

In our view, United may not make an approach for Amrabat unless one of them heads for the exit door.

Van de Beek looks the likely candidate to leave. We won’t be surprised if United make a late attempt to land Amrabat before the transfer deadline.

The player has already made his mind up to reunite with Ten Hag at United, and the onus is on the club to find an agreement with La Viola for him.

Fiorentina want €30m for their prized asset, but the Red Devils are likely to seek a discount on the fee during the closing stages of the transfer window.
