Turkish giants Fenerbahce are prepared to spend £21.4 million to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this summer, according to Fotomac.
The England international had a good season-long loan with Barcelona last term. He scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists from 49 appearances across all competitions.
Rashford has since been reintegrated into the United squad, but that has not stopped the speculation about his future. Fenerbahce are now planning an ambitious swoop.
The Istanbul outfit recently qualified for the Champions League by beating Lyon in the play-offs and seem to be planning a marquee forward signing in the coming days.
After signing Vedat Muriqi, Mason Greenwood, Nathan Ake, and most recently, Romelu Lukaku, the Turkish club are now exploring an ambitious move for Rashford.
They are prepared to present an offer worth £21.4m to United and want to close a deal this weekend.
If a transfer fee can’t be agreed, they are prepared to propose a loan with a mandatory buy clause.
Rashford unlikely to entertain Fenerbahce move
The 28-year-old had a fabulous season on loan with Barcelona, with 29 goal contributions. It came as a surprise that the Blaugrana did not trigger a £26m buy clause.
The left winger has since been reintegrated into the Red Devils’ set-up under manager Michael Carrick and came off the bench during the 2-0 Premier League defeat to Hull City last weekend.
Fenerbahce are now planning to finalise a suitable deal with United for Rashford. They have the financial muscle to pay his £300,000 per week wages, but the final decision is up to the player.
Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano clarified more than a month ago that Rashford has ‘zero plans’ to move to Turkey and could only depart for a top European outfit.
We don’t expect that stance to change before Tuesday’s transfer deadline. United need a solid competitor on the left wing, and Rashford should provide that to Matheus Cunha.
He could be utilised as an option upfront too, with Joshua Zirkzee probably on his way out. Fiorentina have recently entered the race and are trying to secure an initial loan.
Rashford, described as ‘world-class‘ by Barcelona’s official website, looks poised to stay at United.
