Some Manchester United supporters have hailed the performance of midfielder Fred following the club’s 2-1 Premier League triumph over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils came into the game with a three-match winless streak across all competitions but they managed to shed any nervousness with Marcus Rashford scoring in the sixth minute.
Dele Alli did equalise for Jose Mourinho’s side before the break but the advantage was restored at the beginning of the second half with Rashford grabbing his second goal from the penalty spot.
While Rashford has earned most of the plaudits for his contribution to the scoresheet, a section of the United faithful have expressed their delight over the display of Fred in the centre of the park.
The Brazil international has struggled to lay a mark during his time at Old Trafford but against Spurs, he was dominant in the midfield alongside Scott McTominay, who returned from an ankle problem.
As per Squawka, Fred completed the most recoveries (11) for United and he was certainly an influence in the opposition half where he made 39 passes while managing to successfully cross the ball on three occasions.
His all-round performance has pleased a few supporters, who have taken to Twitter to praise him.

Fred for my MOTM. Best I've seen him for a long time. Vibrant in everything he did tonight. Need more of that.

It was one of those rare games where you can understand how #MUFC wrote a £50 million cheque for Fred. There’s talent there.

Fred looked out of sorts in the past few games alongside Andreas Pereira and the pair had received from a section of the fans. However, with McTominay’s comeback, Fred’s performance was far better against Spurs and the duo certainly seem to fit alongside each other.
