Manchester United are on the brink of completing their second summer signing in the form of Brazilian left-back Alex Telles from Porto.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed via his tweet that he’ll update when Porto and United reach an agreement on the fee.
Telles is going to leave Porto as a free agent next summer and has the permit to sign a pre-contract in the upcoming January.
And considering all these facts, the Mancunian club are haggling hard to reduce the asking price of £17 million for the left-back.
Telles amassed 25 goal involvements while helping the side keep 20 clean-sheets in total last term.
Not only has he been impressive for his attacking and crossing attributes, but he has always provided his side with an extra layer of stability while defending.
The Red Devils are now more determined to obtain Telles’ signature after missing out on Sergio Reguilon, who joined the London club Tottenham Hotspur for £28million.
United were also reportedly interested in former Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell. But, with United showcasing their reluctance to pay such a high transfer fee, Chilwell eventually opted to join Chelsea for a reported transfer fee of £50 million on a five-year deal.
Romano also confirmed that Manchester United have another left-back target. Though, he will only disclose the name if the Telles deal doesn’t go through.
