Fabrizio Romano claims that Kalidou Koulibaly has agreed personal terms with Manchester City and the deal is only pending transfer fee negotiations with Napoli, who won’t accept anything lower than €75m (including add-ons) for the Senegalese defender.
Manchester United were previously linked to the center-half from earlier this week and were rumoured to try and hijack his transfer to city rivals.
Pep Guaordiola is serious for a defense overhaul and has already signed Nathan Ake from Bournemouth. They have been linked with Koulibaly for a long time now.
De Laurentiis has been clear about the fact that they are ready to sell Koulibaly and only PSG, United and City have the financial muscle to sign the Sengalese defender. Though Napoli are still yet to receive a new bid from the Citizens, a transfer to the Etihad seems quite imminent at this moment, according to Romano.
Although Manchester United might be a potential destination too, and OGS would be more than willing to make this statement signing, we wouldn’t expect much movement after Koulibaly has agreed on personal terms with the rivals instead.
However, fans could wait and chew on the fact that even after Napoli promised to sell Jorginho to Man City, they sold him to Chelsea at the last moment.
