Manchester United have suffered a major setback in their pursuit of two young stars.
Man United were linked with signing exciting teenage duo Seth Ridgeon and Tyrese Noubissie.
According to The Athletic, the Red Devils have missed out on two academy prospects despite presenting proposals.
Ridgeon is a highly promising attacking midfielder and is currently the captain of England Under-17s.
He has recommitted to Fulham and won’t be part of the prestigious United academy.
Like Ridgeon, Noubissie was also invited to United’s facilities as part of the process but has opted to join Strasbourg after leaving City.
United’s Director of academy Nick Cox and coach Travis Binnion were personally involved in the recruitment drive.
It was also reported that manager Ruben Amorim made a brief appearance during their visit.
The Red Devils have been very aggressive with their approach at the academy level.
They have intensified their scouting, which has helped them to sign potential superstars like Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro.
Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson made their senior debuts under Amorim, showcasing the seamless transition United offer between youth and top-tier football.
Jack Fletcher, Sekou Kone and Bendito Mantato are knocking on the door, and they could well become household names next season.
While Ridgeon and Noubissie would have been high-profile captures, United will now swiftly pivot to other emerging talents on their radar.
The club hierarchy remains actively involved in the current summer transfer window.
Diego Leon and Enzo Kana-Biyik have both completed moves to United.
Leon has joined the pre-season squad currently touring the United States, while Kana-Biyik has been loaned out to Lausanne-Sport for the upcoming campaign.
