“Everything in place” for Ronaldo’s return

31764486-644x362The rumours linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a return to Manchester United simply refuse to go away, as the Portuguese has apparently grown increasingly frustrated with life in Madrid and could leave the Bernabeu next summer.

Since leaving the club in the summer of 2009, Ronaldo has become an even better player than he was at United, scoring 256 goals in 251 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid, but various reports have suggested that the 29-year-old is looking to engineer a move away from Madrid and back to United at the end of the season.

Ronaldo has never made a mystery of his fondness for the United fans and even former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon suggested that the Portuguese could be on his way back to Old Trafford.

The latest to join the chorus of those who believe Ronaldo is Sky’s Spanish football expert Guillem Balague who claimed “everything is in place” for Ronaldo to return to United.

“He is unhappy and he’s said so – but then he corrected himself by saying ‘I didn’t mean what he said’. It was a bit confusing,” Balague told the Revista de La Liga show on Sky Sports.

“Anyway, you have to say he’s not happy that Ozil left and he didn’t like the fact that Xabi Alonso and Di Maria left.

“He has this idea, I think, that at Real Madrid he is doing a job and he is working, but he enjoyed himself almost like a kid at Manchester United.

“He dreams of going back to Manchester United and Manchester United have got all the finances in place to get him.

“When will that be? It depends, of course, on a lot of things. It depends on Real Madrid and on Cristiano himself.

“I have a pretty good idea of when he wants to go. It won’t be this month or next month, but he wants to go back to Manchester United and everything is in place for him to return to Old Trafford.”
