Erik ten Hag could unleash Alejandro Garnacho vs Man City after Antony Martial injury blow

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag could unleash Alejandro Garnacho against Manchester City in the FA Cup final following an injury blow for Anthony Martial.

Martial has had an injury-plagued season with the Red Devils and the Frenchman is once again on the sidelines after picking up a muscle injury against Fulham.

This will force the manager into a tactical switch. With Martial ruled out of the derby, it is most likely that Marcus Rashford will start as the main striker on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho could continue on the right wing with doubts lingering over Antony’s involvement after his ankle injury against Chelsea last week.

The Brazil international was spotted on crutches and a protective boot on Sunday and it would come as a huge surprise if he is fit to start in the Manchester derby.

Taking this into mind, Sancho could continue on the right flank. We anticipate Ten Hag to unleash Garnacho on the opposite wing against Pep Guardiola’s side.

The €25 million-rated star has looked lively since his return from an ankle ligament injury. He scored in his cameo appearance against Wolves and was unlucky to hit the woodwork versus Fulham.

His pace, dribbling and direct running from the left wing could be an X-factor on Saturday. With Rashford up front, United could also attempt to double up on Kyle Walker.

The duo combined for United’s winner against the Cityzens in January. It will be a different challenge at a neutral venue but the club should go into the derby with a fearless mindset.
