Erik ten Hag confirms Rashford & Evans are fit to face Everton but teenager ruled out

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided an injury update on six players ahead of the Premier League clash against Everton on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils have suffered two league defeats on the bounce and they find themselves 11 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa with just 11 games to play.

United must return to winning ways to stand any chance of qualifying for the Champions League. Ahead of tomorrow’s clash, Ten Hag has provided some team news.

The Dutch tactician has confirmed that Marcus Rashford and Jonny Evans have recovered from their injury concerns during the Manchester derby and will be available to face the Toffees.

However, Omari Forson has dropped out from today’s training session. The wonderkid has featured in the last two league matches, but has now been ruled out with an injury.

Ten Hag told reporters: “That’s the good news, they [Rashford and Evans] recovered after the derby, so they are available, the rest is the same squad apart from Omari Forson. He dropped out, he has an injury.”

The manager added that the game will come too soon for Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Rasmus Hojlund. The trio could be available against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final.

He added: “Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka I expect to be back for our game against Liverpool. Hojlund [is] similar, yeah.”

United had a brilliant start to the year with an impressive unbeaten run, but defeats to Fulham and City over the past few weeks have derailed their pursuit of Champions League football.

The Red Devils have the opportunity to make up ground this weekend as fourth-placed Villa and fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur face each other at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.

If things go their way, United could be eight points adrift of the final guaranteed Champions League spot.

It won’t be straightforward against the Toffees. United have won their last four meetings, but they have picked up only two wins during the last five encounters at Old Trafford (three draws).
