Eric Bailly has missed Manchester United’s last two games after picking up an injury whilst on international duty with the Ivory Coast at the beginning of the month.
Prior to his injury, the 23-year-old had been one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League this season.
Ahead of our game at Huddersfield Town on Saturday, Jose Mourinho was speaking at his pre-match press conference and gave a team news and injury update today.
The boss was able to confirm that he hopes Bailly will be available for selection next week. We are at Swansea City in the EFL Cup midweek, though the Ivorian would not be expected to feature in Wales even if he was fit.
This news means that Eric Bailly should make his return to the starting lineup when we host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next Saturday.
Spurs have won all four of their away games in the Premier League this season so the return to Eric Bailly will be huge, especially as he has had Harry Kane in his pocket in the past.
Mourinho confirmed the positive news about Bailly to MUTV:
“I expect Eric Bailly to be back next week.”
Marcus Rashford is available for selection tomorrow despite being substituted late on in our 1-0 win at Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night with an apparent knee injury.
However, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick, Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all sidelined with Bailly.
