Spanish news outlet MARCA confirms that talks between Sergio Reguilon and Manchester United have been intensified. The price is expected to be around €25m.
Real Madrid are pushing to insert a buy-back clause after one or two seasons. The report states that FIFA does allow re-purchase clauses but only between two parties [here, Real and United] and no third party should be involved.
United are also in constant talks with player’s agent Kia Joorabchian.
Reguilon enjoyed a fine season with Sevilla winning the UEFA Europa League and earning a fourth-placed finish. He is currently in Valdebebas recovering from a minor sprain he picked during the international duty.
Zinedine Zidane has no place for Reguilon as the French boss prefers Marcelo and Ferland Mendy. However, Marcelo is aging and a buy-back clause gives the Blancos the control to sign Reguilon if and when needed.
Reguilon expects United to be the perfect destination and fits into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attack-oriented team like a glove. The 23-year-old will have company with United’s other Spanish players- David de Gea and Juan Mata.
MARCA is a reputable source with things related to Real Madrid and Reguilon could be in a United shirt very soon.
