Manchester United have continued to strengthen their academy with new signings from aboard in this ongoing summer transfer market.
After sealing the services for Marc Jurado from Barcelona and Alvaro Fernandez from Real Madrid, Manchester United have made it official that they have completed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Atletico Madrid.
He has reportedly signed a five-year contract with the Mancunian side.
There is no shortage of admirers in Spain for the Atleti forward Garnacho, who has had left his mark while operating the front line for Los Rojiblancos’ Juvenil B side and their Under-19s team.
Garnacho, now 17, is a forward but also possesses the ability to play out wide as a winger. There were reports from Spanish outlet MARCA that United captured Garnacho’s signature by beating the heavyweights like Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid in the race.
Touted to be one of the hottest prospects in European football, Garnacho, is a huge follower of Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo and prefers wearing the same no.7 jersey on the field. However, it remains to be seen now whether he can emulate Ronaldo’s path.
As United’s official announcement suggests, the so-called wonderkid is now ready to join his new teammates at Carrington after serving a period of self-isolation after arriving from the Spanish capital. The starlet will go directly into United’s Under-18s team.
Manchester United’s transfer activities involving their youth sides have certainly provided the fans with the much-needed optimism in a time when the United board has drastically failed to back the club’s senior team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
