Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has received support from West Ham United boss David Moyes ahead of the Premier League encounter between the two sides.
Man United will face West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday. Speaking ahead of the clash, Moyes said Ten Hag must be allowed to fix United’s problems.
He said (via whufc.com): “I don’t want to make too much comment about Manchester United, but I hope they give the manager time to get everything in place that he wants to do and give him every opportunity to be successful.
“It’s a great football club, with great players and great traditions. There are so many good things about it, and the supporters there will be looking for something a little bit more.
“I’ll obviously expect them to give you a really tough game.
“I can’t speak about Manchester United, all I can say is they’ve got really good players and I hope we don’t catch them on a good day.”
Another loss could pile more pressure on Ten Hag
The Dutchman is already under pressure after Man United’s early exit from the Champions League and League Cup.
Their performances in the Premier League have also been unconvincing. They are in the seventh spot, just a point above the Hammers.
Man United have struggled to score goals. They have netted just 18 times in 17 league games.
No other team in the top 14 have scored fewer goals than the Red Devils.
Their top-scorer in the league is Scott McTominay, which highlights how poor Man United have been in the final third.
Moyes’ comments may come from his personal experience as the Red Devils sacked him less than a year after he was appointed.
Ten Hag has seen ups and downs in his short Old Trafford career. However, the club should continue to back the Dutchman to bring the glory days back at Man United.
