Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to mock his former club Manchester United during their disappointing 4-3 defeat at Chelsea on Thursday night.
The Red Devils conceded two goals in the first 20 minutes, with goals by Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer putting the home side ahead.
But a stirring comeback saw United battle back to secure a 3-2 lead, courtesy of Alejandro Garnacho (2) and Bruno Fernandes.
Erik ten Hag’s side were on course to collect all three points before everything fell apart in injury time when Diogo Dalot’s dismal challenge on Noni Madueke resulted in a penalty.
Palmer sent Andre Onana the wrong way to level the scores before the England international lashed home the winner to steal the victory.
Ronaldo seemed to enjoy his former club’s misfortunes as he posted a two-word message on social media shortly before the full-time whistle.
Due to the timing of his post, many fans couldn’t help wondering whether he was mocking the Red Devils.
Ronaldo left the club by mutual consent in 2022 following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticised manager Erik ten Hag.
Given his bitter exit from United, he probably still has a grudge against his former club.
However, quite why he would alienate the fans who once adored him is anyone’s guess.
