Confirmed: Man Utd squad to face Chelsea

Manchester United host Chelsea in a crucial fixture this afternoon if we’re to finish in the top four and qualify for next season’s Champions League.

We start the day three points behind the Blues, who occupy fourth spot, whilst Arsenal in between us face a potentially tricky tie away to Leicester City this afternoon. Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat at home to West Ham United on Saturday opens up the door further.

However, our form has been abysmal of late, losing seven of our last nine in all competitions, including last weekend’s 0-4 humiliation at Everton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has Eric Bailly back from injury as an option to play at centre-back today, but Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof are expected to maintain their positions. Luke Shaw is available again after suspension. Club captain Antonio Valencia has been back in training this week but has not been included in the squad as he builds up his fitness levels.

Here is the Manchester United squad to face Chelsea, as confirmed by the Manchester Evening News:

Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant
Defenders: Matteo Darmian, Diogo Dalot, Ashley Young, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw
Midfielders: Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard
Forwards: Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku
