Confirmed Man Utd line-up vs West Ham, Kambwala handed debut

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made three changes to the starting line-up for this afternoon’s Premier League clash against West Ham United at the London Stadium.

The Red Devils are currently winless in their last three games in all competitions, but they were impressive last weekend in a hard-fought goalless draw against Liverpool away from home.

Ten Hag will want a similar defensive showing against the Hammers, but will also expect his team to find the back of the net which they have not managed over the last three matches.

Ahead of kick-off today, Ten Hag has made three changes from the stalemate against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has replaced Diogo Dalot in the right-back position after the Portuguese was sent off against the Reds. He received two yellow cards in quick succession for dissent.

Elsewhere, club captain Bruno Fernandes has returned in his preferred number 10 position after serving a one game ban for accumulating five yellow cards in the top-flight campaign.

He takes the place of Sofyan Amrabat, who had a difficult outing at Anfield. Scott McTominay is likely to play more centrally alongside Kobbie Mainoo with Fernandes’ comeback.

The major change today is in the heart of the defence. Club graduate Willy Kambwala has been handed his senior debut alongside Jonny Evans with Raphael Varane not in the squad.

Varane was exceptional against Liverpool last weekend with 15 clearances and 100 per cent of his aerial duels won, but he reportedly misses today’s game due to illness.

Confirmed Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs West Ham: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Kambwala, Evans, Shaw; McTominay, Mainoo; Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund.

United are currently six points behind the final Champions League spot occupied by Manchester City and they have the opportunity to close the gap by beating the Hammers.

The Red Devils have a brilliant league record against today’s opposition with five wins in the last six meetings. Ten Hag will be hoping that the club can end their goalless streak with a victory.
