Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made three changes to the starting line-up for tonight’s FA Cup fifth round tie against Nottingham Forest on the road.
The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 2-1 Premier League defeat to Fulham at Old Trafford last weekend. They were second-best for most of the game and struggled to exhibit their dominance.
Ten Hag will want a strong response at City Ground tonight and ahead of the game, he has made three changes to the line-up. In goal, Andre Onana continues as usual.
However, there is an enforced change in the backline with Harry Maguire ruled out through injury.
In his place, the manager has chosen Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan could start in the left-back role with Victor Lindelof moving into central defence alongside Raphael Varane.
Diogo Dalot looks set to start from the right-back position, though he could interchange positions with Amrabat. We should know more following kick-off at City Ground.
Further forward, Kobbie Mainoo has been given a breather after a string of starts. Scott McTominay will start from the number eight role with Casemiro as the holding midfielder.
In attack, Antony has got his first start for United since the fourth round win at Newport County.
The Brazilian will start from his preferred right wing spot with Alejandro Garnacho on the opposite end.
Bruno Fernandes has recovered from a minor knock to take up the number 10 position. Marcus Rashford will lead the attack with Rasmus Hojlund out for three weeks with a muscle injury.
The FA Cup is United’s last chance of winning a trophy this season and Ten Hag will be desperate to avoid an exit before the quarter-final stage of the famous old competition.
Confirmed Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Nottingham Forest: Onana; Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Amrabat; Casemiro, McTominay; Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho; Rashford.
