Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made two changes to the starting line-up for the Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
The Red Devils have suffered back-to-back losses in all competitions and they will be aiming to return to winning ways against their arch-rivals this evening.
United are winless in the last eight trips to the stadium and they have the opportunity to break the poor run and close the seven-point gap to the top four.
Ahead of the game, Ten Hag has made two changes from the 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Bruno Fernandes is obviously suspended for the game after picking up his fifth yellow card of the top-flight campaign against Bournemouth last weekend.
In his absence, Ten Hag has opted to bring in Kobbie Mainoo into the midfield as we predicted.
Mainoo is likely to start alongside Sofyan Amrabat in the holding midfield department. Scott McTominay looks set to feature from the number 10 position.
The only other change is in central defence with Jonny Evans coming in for Harry Maguire, who has been ruled out of the game with a groin problem.
Confirmed Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Varane, Evans, Shaw; Mainoo, Amrabat; Antony, McTominay, Garnacho; Hojlund.
We had predicted Ten Hag to pick Shaw in the heart of the defence alongside Varane, but the manager has gone with the experience of Jonny Evans with Victor Lindelof failing to recover from his injury.
It remains to be seen how the Northern Irishman handles the threat of Mohamed Salah from the left wing. He needs to put up a big performance alongside Varane to deliver a positive result today.
