Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made one change to the starting line-up for tonight’s Champions League group stage clash against Galatasaray at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils suffered their fifth defeat of the campaign on Saturday. Crystal Palace beat them by a 1-0 scoreline at home and Ten Hag will want a strong response from his players.
Ahead of tonight’s game, there is a solitary change with Facundo Pellistri making way for Hannibal Mejbri.
This obviously means a different position for Bruno Fernandes. The club captain is likely to operate from the right wing such that Hannibal starts from the attacking midfield role.
Meanwhile, there is more good news for the Red Devils with Antony back in the squad. The Brazilian has had two training sessions with the team and could feature off the bench.
Confirmed Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Amrabat; Casemiro, Mount; Fernandes, Hannibal, Rashford; Hojlund.
United have been hampered by several defensive injuries in the early part of the season, but Ten Hag now has almost a full strength midfield and attack to choose from.
Antony’s return is a huge boost for the Red Devils, considering the club have lacked quality on the right wing in his absence. Pellistri has not made any goal contributions.
Ten Hag has also been reluctant to start Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford together in recent weeks. Tonight’s game is a huge one for Hannibal. He needs a good display to retain his spot.
