Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made four changes to the starting line-up for tonight’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have picked up only four points from their last five league games and this has dropped them eight points behind the final Champions League spot.
The club can’t afford to lose further ground on the top four and Ten Hag will be expecting his players to deliver a strong performance against Villa with a victory.
Ahead of the game, the Dutchman has made four changes from the 2-0 loss at West Ham United.
In defence, there are a couple of tweaks from the weekend. Raphael Varane has been reinstated in the heart of the backline following his recovery from an illness.
The Frenchman will partner Jonny Evans with Willy Kambwala dropping to the bench.
Diogo Dalot is set to operate from the left-back spot with Luke Shaw not in the matchday squad. He has been ruled out of the encounter with a minor injury concern.
In midfield, Scott McTominay has been dropped to the bench. Kobbie Mainoo will have a new partner in the form of Christian Eriksen, who should provide more creativity.
Like Luke Shaw, Sofyan Amrabat misses the game with a minor issue.
Further forward, there is one more change with Marcus Rashford replacing Antony on the right wing.
Alejandro Garnacho will continue on the opposite flank. Captain Bruno Fernandes starts in his regular number 10 spot with Rasmus Hojlund leading the attack once more.
Confirmed Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Evans, Varane, Dalot; Mainoo, Eriksen; Rashford, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund.
