Confirmed Lineups: West Ham vs Man Utd

Manchester United are in action at the London Stadium this evening to take on West Ham United in our penultimate Premier League game of the 2017-18 season.

With second place already wrapped up Jose Mourinho appears to be using this game to to try out a new formation before resting key players for our final Premier League game of the season at home to Watford on Sunday.

David Moyes’ West Ham are down in 15th to start this evening but safe for another season in the top flight.  The Hammers would go level on points with Newcastle United in 10th down to Watford in 13th, with a victory this evening.

The two teams are confirmed as:

Manchester United

David de Gea; Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones; Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw; Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard; Alexis Sanchez

Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind, Ashley Young, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford

Despite Romelu Lukaku sidelined with an ankle injury Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford can only make do with an appearance on the bench again this evening. Alexis Sanchez returns from injury and appears to be starting up front in a 3-4-2-1 formation.

Phil Jones is back from injury to partner Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof in the middle of a back three with Luke Shaw coming in for Ashley Young to start as the left wingback, with captain Antonio Valencia on the opposite flank.

Scott McTominay is back in the starting lineup as Nemanja Matic drops out of the squad altogether.  The Scottish international is joined by Ander Herrera in the front with Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard expected to start further forward.

West Ham United

Adrian; Pablo Zabaleta, Angelo Ogbonna, Declan Rice, Aaron Cresswell, Arthur Masuaku; Mark Noble, Cheikou Kouyate, Joao Mario, Manuel Lanzini; Marko Arnautovic

Substitutes: Joe Hart, Patrice Evra, Josh Cullen, Pedro Obiang, Edimilson Fernandes, Jordan Hugill, Andy Carroll

Former-Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra is among the substitutes for the hosts this evening.  Makeshift striker Marko Arnautovic leads the line after being listed as a doubt earlier in the week.  Andy Carroll is the backup striker for David Moyes’ side this evening.
