Manchester United restart our 2019-20 Premier League campaign away to Tottenham Hotspur tonight.
Victory would move us seven points clear of Jose Mourinho’s side and into fourth place, at least prior to Chelsea’s trip to Aston Villa on Sunday.
The two teams for tonight’s match are confirmed as:
Manchester United
David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Fred, Bruno Fernandes; Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial
Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Eric Bailly, Brandon Williams, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood, Odion Ighalo
The boss has gone for a back four this evening with Scott McTominay and Fred partnering Bruno Fernandes in the middle of the park. We have our pacey front three starting.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is allowed to make up to five substitutes during three spells in the game. Eric Bailly and Brandon Williams are the only defenders on the bench tonight, with both Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe injured.
Paul Pogba is back among the substitutes after missing all of the New Year to date through injury.
Tottenham Hotspur
Hugo Lloris; Serge Aurier, Eric Dier, Davison Sanchez, Ben Davies; Harry Winks, Mousa Sissoko, Erik Lamela, Steven Bergwijn, Heung-min Son; Harry Kane
Substitutes: Paolo Gazzaniga, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Ryan Sessegnon, Harvey White, Oliver Skipp, Gedson, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso
Jose Mourinho has made an interesting choice to start Eric Dier in a back four. The England international will be alongside Serge Aurier in an area you’d have to think we’ll look to exploit through Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw.
Spurs have all their attackers on the pitch too – Harry Kane supported by Steven Bergwijn and Heung-min Son. Ryan Sessegnon is their most attacking player among the substitutes.
