Confirmed Lineups: Manchester United vs Fulham

Jose Mourinho goes in search of Manchester United’s first Premier League win in five games as we host Fulham in under an hour’s time.

The Cottagers are bottom of the league but have picked up four points in their three games under Claudio Ranieri.

We started the weekend eight points off the top four so anything less than three points this afternoon and we can forget about Champions League football next season.

The two teams for today’s game are as follows:

Manchester United

David de Gea; Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young; Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard; Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford

Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini, Fred, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba

Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are both fit to take up the centre-back positions whilst Ashley Young returns from suspension to take up the left-back role with Luke Shaw only makes the bench. Diogo Dalot makes his second Premier League start after an impressive full debut versus Arsenal on Wednesday.

Romelu Lukaku is in the central striker and will have Marcus Rashford on his left. To the right will either be Juan Mata or Jesse Lingard, with either of those playing the attack-most of our central midfield three. Paul Pogba is only among the substitutes just as he was midweek.

Sergio Rico; Denis Odoi, Alfie Mawson, Tim Ream, Joe Bryan; Andre Schurrle, Jean Michael Seri, Andre-Frank Anguissa, Ryan Sessegnon; Tom Cairney; Aleksandar Mitrovic

Substitutes: Marcus Betinelli, Cyrus Christie, Neeskins Kebano, Ibrahima Cisse, Stefan Johansen, Luciano Vietto, Aboubakar Kamara

Ryan Sessegnon starts on the left wing for his side – a much better position from Fulham fans’ point of view because he’s terrible defensively despite playing most of his time at left-back during his young career to date.

Fulham have conceded the most goals in the Premier League this season and we should have no problem sticking the ball in the back of the net with the likes of Denis Odoi and Tim Ream starting.

Andre Schurrle offers pace and a goal threat down the right wing whilst Tom Cairney is a decent attacking midfielder who will be lining up behind striker Aleksandar Mitrovic today.
