Confirmed Lineups: Man Utd vs Man City

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from our 4-0 drubbing at Everton on Sunday by beating Manchester City at Old Trafford this evening.

Three points would put us level on points with Chelsea in fourth, though Arsenal are also in action this evening, at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester City will be looking for the three points they need to return back to the top of the Premier League table, with only three fixtures to go after this evening.

The two teams for this evening’s game are confirmed as:

Manchester United

David de Gea; Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw; Fred, Andreas Pereira, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Ashley Young

Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Diogo Dalot, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recalls Matteo Darmian to right-back with Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof in the middle and Luke Shaw back from suspension to play on the left of our back four. Ashley Young appears to have moved back to his old left wing position, with Jesse Lingard on the right of our attack.

Nemanja Matic drops to the bench as Fred and Andreas Pereira partner the out-of-form Paul Pogba in central midfield. Marcus Rashford starts as our sole striker. Ole has Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial to call upon from the bench.

Manchester City

Ederson; Kyle Walker, Vincent Kompany, Aymeric Laporte, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Fernandinho, Ilkay Gundogan, David Silva; Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling

Substitutes: Aro Muric, Danilo, Nicolas Otamdeni, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus

John Stones has been dropped from the squad as Vincent Kompany partners Aymeric Laporte in a back four for Manchester City. Youngster Oleksandr Zinchenko starts at left-back with Danilo on the bench. We have a lot of pace on the counter-attack to cause problems for captain Kompany.

The midfield and attack is as we predicted earlier with Ilkay Gundogan replacing the injured Kevin De Bruyne in the midfield three and Phil Foden dropping to the bench. Leroy Sane is also among the substitutes as Raheem Sterling goes up against Ashley Young and Bernardo Silva down their right wing.
