Manchester United could have the opportunity to move into fourth place this evening depending on the Leicester City versus Sheffield United final score.
Victory would at least ensure we move back to within a point of Chelsea in third place. We face the Blues on Sunday in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium. Crystal Palace have lost each of their last five Premier League matches.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a number of injuries heading into tonight’s match and promised rotation in the midst of a busy week.
The two confirmed lineups are as follows:
Manchester United
David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Timothy Fosu-Mensah; Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba; Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford; Anthony Martial
Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Eric Bailly, Diogo Dalot, Nemanja Matic, Fred, Juan Mata, Jesee Lingard, Daniel James, Odion Ighalo
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn’t made as many changes as expected, with the front four all keeping their places in the starting lineup, including Mason Greenwood who picked up a knock to his ankle on Monday.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah makes his first appearance of the season and slots in at left-back with both Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams injured. Diogo Dalot is only good enough for the bench.
Scott McTominay also comes into the starting lineup to give Nemanja Matic a rest.
Crystal Palace
Vicente Guaita, Patrick van Aanholt, Mamadou Sakho, Scott Dann, Joel Ward; James McArthur, Luka Milivojevic, James McCarthy; Andros Townsend, Jordan Ayew, Wilfried Zaha
Substitutes: Wayne Hennessey, Stephen Kelly, Sam Woods, Tyrick Mitchell, Jairo Riedewald, Jeffrey Schlupp, Cheikhou Kouyate, Max Meyer, Brandon Pierrick
Roy Hodgson has gone with a 4-5-1 formation that turns into a 4-3-3 when in possession. Jordan Ayew will be the striker, with former United player Wilfried Zaha down the left.
The Eagles are limited in terms of attacking players on the bench which includes a number of youngsters.
