Manchester United will be looking to climb above Chelsea and move level on points with Tottenham Hotspur in third place by beating Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon.
The Toffees have put in some good performances of late, beating fellow top four rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, whilst we are coming off of a 3-0 defeat at Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to have a couple of injuries to deal with but the squad is getting back together, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford all recently returning.
The two teams for this evening’s game are confirmed as:
Manchester United
David de Gea; Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Diogo Dalot; Nemanja Matic, Fred, Paul Pogba; Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial
Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Ashley Young, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Alexis Sanchez
Victor Lindelof starts at right-back today with Ashley Young returning from suspension last weekend to make the bench. Luke Shaw completes his two-match ban today so Diogo Dalot starts at left-back in his place. Fred continues to start in a midfield three, alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, as Scott McTominay is named among the substitutes and with Ander Herrera still sidelined.
It appears Marcus Rashford will play on the right of a front three, with Romelu Lukaku as the central striker and Anthony Martial to his left.
Ole has named a very attack-minded bench which includes the likes of Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez.
Everton
Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Kurt Zouma, Lucas Digne; Idrissa Gueye, Morgan Schneiderlin; Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard; Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Substitutes: Maarten Stekelenburg, Phil Jagielka, James McCarthy, Tom Davies, Theo Walcott, Ademola Lookman, Cenk Tosun
Former Manchester United youngster Michael Keane returns from a knock to partner Kurt Zouma in the middle of Everton’s back four that has attack-minded Seamus Coleman starting at right-back. Anthony Martial should be looking to exploit the space left behind by the Irishman.
Former United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin starts alongside Idrissa Gueye in front of the back four whilst Everton’s attacking midfield trio are all threats in their own right. Whilst Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson are in double figures for the year, Bernard is more of a creator than a goalscorer out on the left.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a hard worker up front but doesn’t chip in with too many goals for a striker.
