Confirmed lineups: Arsenal vs Man Utd

The most-anticipated Premier League game of the weekend kicks off in under an hour’s time as Arsenal host Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.

We start the game level on points with Chelsea in second place and four points above the Gunners.

The two teams are confirmed as:

Manchester United

David de Gea; Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo; Antonio Valencia, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard; Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial

Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind, Scott McTominay, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford

Jose Mourinho has gone with a back three consisting of Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo as Phil Jones hasn’t recovered in time.  One player that was a doubt for today’s game who does start in Nemanja Matic after the Serbian limped off early in the second half on Tuesday night.

With Matic partnering Paul Pogba in the middle of the park it looks like we’ll be playing a 3-4-1-2 with Anthony Martial alongside Romelu Lukaku up front and Jesse Lingard in the number 10.  Both Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata make the bench but there is no room for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in today’s matchday squad.

Petr Cech; Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal; Hector Bellerin, Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Sead Kolasinac; Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez; Alexandre Lacazette

Substitutes: David Ospina, Per Mertesacker, Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud

Despite Arsene Wenger saying on Wednesday night that Alexandre Lacazette was ruled out of this game with a groin injury, the French striker starts.

Otherwise there are no surprises named by the Gunners boss who names a back three of Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi and Nacho Monreal.  Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are in excellent form in midfield whilst Alexis Sanchez is capable of being a match winner in any game.
