Manchester United have little to play for in our final game on Sunday against Cardiff City at Old Trafford.
A top six finish is already confirmed whilst we’d need three points and Burnley avoiding defeat at home to Arsenal in order to move up one place.
The visitors for the final game of the season are already guaranteed 18th spot and relegation back to the Championship at the first attempt.
Speaking at his final pre-match press conference of the season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave the media an injury update and team news on Friday.
Eric Bailly is the only confirmed absentee, with the Ivorian also ruled out of the summer’s Africa Cup of Nations too.
Captain Antonio Valencia has been out for 5-6 months but the boss is hoping that the Ecuadorian will be able to feature against the Bluebirds, but remains doubtful. Ole told MUTV:
“I spoke to Antonio yesterday. He’s not been fit the five or six months I’ve been here unfortunately. He’s really struggled but he feels that he could play a part and I would hope that he gets through today and tomorrow and we could give him a nice send off, because he’s been a fantastic servant to the club.
“He’s been Player of the Year, he’s been captain at the club and I think that’s only fair.”
Backup goalkeeper Sergio Romero has been absent recently so expect Lee Grant to be among the substitutes this weekend.
Jesse Lingard has been out of late and may well miss our final game, as might Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Mason Greenwood, who had been expected to feature in one of our final games this season prior to injury.
