Club’s Sporting Director confirms Manchester United target will not be sold

Manchester United opened talks with Milan Skriniar as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a defender. The Norwegian boss wants competition amongst Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof.

Chris Smalling is set to move to AS Roma too. Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo are hardly competent to make OGS’ XI.

Christian Falk confirmed that United and Dayot Upamecano’s rumours are untrue. Upamecano himself said that he’s happy to stay at Leipzig. Reports suggested that United rekindle their interest in Skriniar.

However, Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio spoke to Italian broadcaster SportItalia and confirmed that they have not negotiated for the 25-year-old Slovakian defender.

“Skriniar is a player we have made the right investment for. He has been with us for three years and has done very well. Recently, maybe, he played less but we will continue to count on him as there are no negotiations ongoing regarding him.

Yesterday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Skriniar is set to stay at Inter Milan.

PSG are pushing hard to secure Skriniar’s services too. However, it looks like Inter are in no mood to sell the defender as they aim to win the Serie A title and progress in European competitions.
