Club’s chief confirms £100,000 per week Manchester United’s star would be ‘dream’ signing

Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has been called a dream signing by the President of Racing Club. [source- Talksport]

Speaking to Radio Colonia, this is what he said :

“I dream of bringing Chiquito(Romero), but he has to come with the conviction of wanting to return, knowing that he’s not going to earn in dollars or the amount of money he earns in Europe”.

“But Racing opens the doors to everyone who wants to return. In Tita there’s a court with his name, obviously we want him to come, but it’s his decision and I understand if he wants to stay there”.

Sergio Romero is living out his worst nightmares at Manchester United. However, he’s the best deputy goalkeeper in the world!

Romero is a top-notch professional and has kept more clean sheets [a] than goals conceded [a]. It shows his quality and mistreatment by the United board.

Everton offered to pay a £2m loan fee + cover his £100,000 per week wages on the deadline day. However, United wanted £8m – Everton refused – and a deal couldn’t be struck.

The arrival of Englishman Dean Henderson back from Sheffield United has started a battle between him and David De Gea for United’s starting goalkeeper spot.

This has in turn has hurt Romero.

Romero’s playing time in the cup competitions has also been taken away, with Dean Henderson starting both the EfL cup games this season.

The Argentine has also been dropped from the club’s UEFA UCLsquad. The space for the 3rd goalkeeper has been filled by Lee Grant.

The shot-stopper needs to leave if he wants to prolong his international career.

He was Argentina’s No 1 for a long time, but has been overtaken by Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez.

Emi Martinez left Arsenal to join Villa this summer in search of regular playing time.

Sergio Romero was a wanted man this summer, being linked to Everton, Aston Villa and Chelsea.

He is reportedly ‘gunning‘ for a move to the MLS. Sergio Romero is contracted to Manchester United till the summer of 2021.
