Christian Eriksen proves he is undroppable after ‘running the show’ vs Brentford

Manchester United eased the pressure on Erik ten Hag after the 2-1 comeback victory over Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.

Ethan Pinnock put Brentford ahead in first-half stoppage time. United were playing with ten men as Matthijs de Ligt needed medical assistance off the pitch.

Second-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund helped United to complete the turnaround.

Christian Eriksen was the standout player against Brentford, even without getting on the scoresheet.

The 32-year-old played four key passes and enjoyed 95 percent passing accuracy.

He played a vital role in the build-up to Rasmus Hojlund’s match-winning strike.

He could have scored when United’s number nine played him through with a clever flick. However, the midfielder blazed his shot over the bar.

Eriksen also shone in his defensive duties, making three clearances and two tackles during the game.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank was impressed with Eriksen and credited him for ‘running the show‘ in the second half.

Erik ten Hag has shown faith by starting him in four of the previous five league games.

He has bagged three goals and three assists in nine appearances this season. Given his current form, Eriksen is undroppable for United.

He has a key role to play in the absence of Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount.

United will face Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday.

It is a critical game for the Red Devils after taking only two points from their first two European games.
