Chido Obi and Sofyan Amrabat react after Rasmus Hojlund’s late equaliser vs Bournemouth

Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Red Devils had thrice the number of shots as the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium but could not find the winner.

Antoine Semenyo scored early for the hosts after an error from Patrick Dorgu in the lead-up.

United were handed a significant advantage as the Cherries went down to 10 men in the 70th minute.

Despite this, they had to wait until the sixth minute of stoppage time to score the equaliser.

Rasmus Hojlund was in the right spot to tap home an important goal for him on a personal level.

The Dane has struggled to find the net this campaign. It was only his second goal in his last 29 games for United.

Shortly after the 1-1 draw, Hojlund posted on Instagram with the caption: “We wanted the win, but I needed that.”

Chido Obi quickly responded with a fire emoji, while former United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat was likewise impressed.

Hojlund has been prone to losing regular duels over the course of the campaign.

He was much better against the Cherries, winning four out of seven duels contested.

The £38 million-rated star had 14 passes in the game which was likewise an improvement from recent outings.

The 22-year-old managed to score a late equaliser, which should boost his confidence.

Hojlund is poised to lead United’s attack during the first leg of the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao at San Mames on Thursday.

Athletic have the best defensive record in La Liga with just 26 goals conceded from 33 matches.

Chances could be at a premium and Hojlund must capitalise on any clear-cut scoring opportunities.

Obi had a good cameo coming off the bench yesterday. He is ineligible to face Athletic, having not been registered in United’s List-A squad for the Europa League knock-out phase.
