The Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Saturday said that striker Edinson Cavani has regained fitness and will be available to play in the upcoming match against Leeds United on Sunday. Cavani had missed last three games for the club after suffering a groin injury during United’s 3-1 win against West Ham.
The Uruguayan international returned to the training on Friday and the United boss said he would be available on Sunday.
“Edinson will be available, I think, yeah,” Ole told Manchester United reporters. “He trained this morning so he should be available for the Leeds game,” he added.
Ole also added that he expects a full team availalbe at Leeds as no player appeared to be injured after 3-2 win against Sheffield United earlier this week.
“I don’t think we lost anyone [during the win over Sheffield United]. When you win games, the boys never feel the little knocks and bruises too badly,” Ole said.
Cavani has been in good form since joining the club via a free transfer in the summer. The striker showcased his tenacity to be in the right position at the right time during the thrilling encounter against Southampton. Cavani assisted a goal and then scored a brace after coming off the bench to help United pull off a 3-2 win, despite going down 2-0 at half time.
United will be looking to continue their undefeated streak when they face off against Leeds United at Old Trafford on Sunday. They are currently placed at the 6th position in the table with 23 points in 12 games, and a win over Leeds is likely to push United in the top four.
