The transfer of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal to Manchester United appears imminent.
According to reports, the Chilean superstar has agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal at Old Trafford worth a staggering £27 million per season.
The hold up on the deal has been due to Henrikh Mkhitaryan not initially agreeing terms with Arsenal, but it appears the Armenian is now set to agree to the switch.
Sanchez is in the final six months of his deal at the Emirates with no intention to sign a new deal. So instead of losing him on a free transfer over the summer, Arsene Wenger has agreed to cash in on the Chilean superstar this month.
The deal is believed to value both Mkhitaryan and Alexis Sanchez at £30 million.
Manchester United are in action at Burnley tomorrow but for Alexis Sanchez to be a part of the action, we will have needed to sign the 29-year-old and all the paperwork before midday today. The clock is ticking!
Should we be successful in our move for the forward before 12:00 today, there’s no guarantee he would start at Turf Moor due to the lack of training with the first team. However, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic injured and Mkhitaryan off, there would be a good chance he’d make the bench and a possible second half substitute.
Failing that, if we do sign Sanchez today after the midday deadline, or even sign him over the weekend, he could then make his debut at Yeovil Town in the FA Cup fourth round a week today.
