Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and other senior Manchester United players believe Antony is a good fit for Ruben Amorim’s style

Manchester United summer signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo and other senior players at the club believe that Antony is a good fit in the playing system of head coach Ruben Amorim, according to journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs.

The Brazilian is not in the plans of the Red Devils boss having not been included in their pre-season tour of the United States and is expected to leave this summer.

Antony spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis and has been linked with a couple of suitors so far.

However, the new Man United attackers and his old teammates believe he is perfect for the team given his style of play.

The 25-year-old made 14 appearances for the Red Devils last season, weighing in with a goal, but he was in fine form in Spain, bagging nine goals and five assists.

Amorim is not convinced as he just wants him and others excluded from the tour gone, and the player has also expressed a willingness to leave.

Man United are not ready to sell him or others cheaply despite the situation of things, but whether that could change in the final week of the summer transfer window remains to be seen.

There are 31 days remaining for Premier League clubs to do business, and the Red Devils are desperate to get Antony and co. out.

Marcus Rashford has already joined Barcelona on a season-long loan, with the La Liga club covering his full wages after he accepted a 25% pay cut, saving United about £14 million.

Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony will be hoping to quickly sort out their futures too, and Mbeumo and Cunha will not likely be playing with the Brazilian in the club’s colours despite wanting to.
