Borussia Dortmund manager in touch with Jadon Sancho over possible January move

Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic has been in touch with Manchester United star Jadon Sancho ahead of a potential move in January, according to The Times.

The England international is currently suspended by the club following his outburst towards manager Erik ten Hag following the Premier League defeat at Arsenal.

Ten Hag said that Sancho was dropped from the squad for his poor attitude in training. This did not go well with the forward, who criticised the Dutchman of lying.

Sancho is now training with the Under 18 squad. He has no plans of apologising for his mistake and there are claims that he may have played his final game for the club.

The Times now report that Terzic, who was working as an assistant coach during Sancho’s stint at Dortmund, has kept in touch with the 23-year-old winger.

Dortmund’s hierarchy have also discussed the possibility of Sancho returning in January, but money is likely to be a sticking point towards a permanent transfer.

They are unlikely to cover his £300,000-a-week wages or pay anywhere near the £73 million they sold him for. A loan deal could be possible solution in the New Year.

The Times report that Terzic is not an overly tactical coach and prefers to work with star players who can win matches with flashes of inspiration such as Sancho.

Sancho could leave Man Utd on loan in January

The attacker has been banished from first-team training following his comments after the Arsenal game.

He has shown no remorse for his mistake and as things stand, he is unlikely to be reintegrated into the squad. A temporary departure could be a solution this winter.

Sancho is currently out-of-favour under Ten Hag, but United would not want to persist with the current situation as it would directly hamper the forward’s valuation.

A good loan stint at another top European club could enable them to secure a reasonable price in the summer and avoid making a significant loss on the fee paid.

The former Dortmund man is currently valued at £28 million by Transfermarkt. United would ideally want much more to sanction his permanent departure.
