We have another update in Jadon Sancho’s transfer saga. Bild claims that Borussia Dortmund are staying firm on the €120m valuation of Jadon Sancho despite United negotiating to bring the asking price down.
The same report suggest that Dortmund have proposed a fresh new deal to Sancho with an increase in his wages. He currently earns €115,000-a-week, but the club are willing to hike this up to a €190,000-a-week. Annually, this is a €4m rise from €6m per year to €10m.
Post-lockdown, Sancho has started four games out of nine games. USMNT international Giovanni Reyna replaced him and there were strong rumours that Sancho has fell out of the club’s future plans.
It is not a surprise as Dortmund are a selling club and they had a strong spending last year acquiring Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt, Erling Haaland and Mats Hummels.
They are in a need of funds with their financial reports suggesting dry cashflow. In this scenario, Dormund couldn’t be serious paying more money to Sancho. The club knows that the player has already agreed on personal terms with United and United wants Sancho too.
This is just another round of Dortmund trying to get the pay they want for Sancho. What happens from here is yet to be seen.
