Blow for Manchester United as Estevao Willian close to joining Chelsea

Chelsea are close to signing Palmeiras star Estevao Willian in a transfer blow to Manchester United.

Nicknamed ‘Massinho’ – ‘Little Messi’ in Portuguese – the 17-year-old is the latest big talent to emerge from Brazil.

Despite his young age, he has already netted three goals in 14 appearances for the senior team.

United were linked with an interest in the Palmeiras wonderkid in January, but it looks like he is heading to Chelsea.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have reached a verbal agreement with Estevao on personal terms.

They have yet to agree on a transfer fee but are set to make a bid of around €32 million plus add-ons.

Several departures expected

The summer transfer budget at Old Trafford is expected to be tight, and the club will look to sell players to bring in new recruits.

Mason Greenwood is unlikely to be reintegrated and United will hope to receive a reasonable transfer fee for the 22-year-old amid interest from Premier League and La Liga clubs

Casemiro could also be moved on after his massive struggles with form and injuries this season.

Jadon Sancho is also expected to leave the Red Devils. He has no intention of returning to Old Trafford.
