Blind keeps faith with Van Gaal

Everton-v-Manchester-United-Premier-LeagueDaley Blind has said Manchester United must stick together and finish the season on a high after three defeats in a row have threatened to dent their challenge for a top-four finish.

Having won six on the bounce, United have lost to Chelsea, Everton and West Bromwich, failing to score in all three games as an injury to Michael Carrick has disrupted Louis Van Gaal’s plans.

However, Blind said he was confident United would finish fourth and will challenge for trophies next season.

“I think we will compete for trophies next season because a club like United has to be fighting,” he said.

“We want to win the league, of course, that’s the main thing. That and to play in the Champions League again.”

“He [Van Gaal] has his own philosophy and approach which players have to adapt to. In the end you see that it makes you better and it makes a better team. I think everybody has realised that now.

“It’s important that we have stuck together as a team, even when it’s not going so well.”
